Outlaws Believe Southwest Success Will Propel Them to Quick Start at Screven, Volusia

CONCORD, NC – Jan. 17, 2019 – Four World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series drivers got a jump on the season last weekend at the Wild West Shootout in Queen Creek, Arizona. Two drivers with plans to tackle the Outlaw circuit for the first time earned victories, while 2017 Series Champion Brandon Sheppard conquered the overall event crown and Outlaw veteran Chase Junghans did a final tune-up for the season opener on Feb. 8-9 at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, GA.

QUEEN CREEK, AZ – Donny Schatz started 12th and passed Shane Stewart on a Lap 20 restart to score his first career victory at Arizona Speedway Saturday Night in front of a standing room only crowd. It was Schatz, who was the fourth and final driver to lead a lap in the Feature, fourth win of the season as he extended his early season points lead in his quest for his tenth Series Championship.

Gravel and Brown finish on the podium at Arizona Desert Shootout

QUEEN CREEK, AZ — April 8, 2017 — In a caution free event that saw passing throughout the 24-car field, it was Rico Abreu that perfectly timed a slide-job in Turn 2 to take over the top spot from Brian Brown at the half-way point of the 30-lap event. David Gravel was able to follow Abreu through to give him the second position. Abreu held off a hard-charging Gravel as they made their way through heavy lap traffic to pick up his first World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series win of the 2017 season at Arizona Speedway.
