West Virginia Star Seeking To Become Rare Under-30 Winner Of Dirt Late Model Racing’s Most Prestigious Event

ROSSBURG, OH – Sept. 4, 2013 – Josh Richards fully understands the significance of the DIRTcar UMP-sanctioned World 100 at Eldora Speedway.

“The prestige of that race is just what makes our sport,” Richards reverentially said of dirt Late Model racing’s biggest event. “Obviously, the kings of the sport are the guys who have won the race.”

Richards, of course, dearly wants to join that exclusive list of drivers who have raised the famed globe trophy. He’ll get his chance when the $46,000-to-win World 100 is contested for the 43rd consecutive year this weekend (Sept. 5-7) at NASCAR star Tony Stewart’s high-banked, half-mile oval.

OUTLAW CHALLENGER: Dan Stone has given the stars of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series all they handle several times this season – at tracks he’s not all that familiar with, no less.

So expectations will certainly be high for the Thompson, Pa., driver this weekend when the national tour makes its first-ever appearance at Selinsgrove Speedway, a sprawling half-mile oval at which he’s turned a substantial number of laps in his career.

MINERAL WELLS, WV – Aug. 27, 2013 – The last time the World of Outlaws Late Model Series stopped at West Virginia Motor Speedway, the three-decade-old track was one of the biggest, fastest dirt ovals in the country.

But when the stars of the national tour return to WVMS on Friday night (Aug. 30) after a three-year absence for a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win event that closes out the facility’s 2013 RaceFest, they will find a different racetrack staring them in the face.
