World of Outlaws to Debut on Bridgeport’s New Configuration May 22nd

CONCORD, NC – May 7, 2018 — The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will make its eighth visit to Bridgeport Speedway, but first ever on the newly configured 3/8- mile dirt track, named Design for Vision/Sunglass Central Speedway at Bridgeport on Tuesday, May 22nd. It will be The Greatest Show on Dirt’s lone appearance in New Jersey for the 2018 40th Anniversary Season.

Historically, Sammy Swindell has dominated the 5/8 mile configuration of Bridgeport Speedway, winning five of the seven events contested, including the inaugural visit to the facility in 1982 and the most recent in 2003. Even on the 5/8 mile track, no current World of Outlaws driver has won at the facility.

With the new configuration and construction of Design for Vision/Sunglass Central Speedway at Bridgeport, the playing field will be wide open as the World of Outlaws break in the new clay.

“We are excited to race on the new configuration at Bridgeport. It’s a nice facility and we never take for granted the opportunity to race close to our shop,” said Pennsylvania Outlaw Logan Schuchart. “It’s always great to be close to home to have our friends, family and sponsors come out and watch us compete. Hopefully, we can put on a good show for them,” Schuchart, who sits 8th in Series points, added.

With the race being on the East Coast, a strong regional car count is expected with many Pennsylvania Posse regulars making the trip over to New Jersey. The likes of Greg Hodnett, Lucas Wolfe, Danny Dietrich and others will surely look to grab an Outlaw win outside the friendly confines of Pennsylvania. Tickets for the Outlaws debut at Design for Vision/Sunglass Central Speedway at Bridgeport are available here.

If you can’t make it to the track, be sure to catch all the action LIVE on DIRTVision.com. After Bridgeport, the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will begin a stretch of five races in eight days starting at The Dirt Track at Charlotte on Friday, May 25.
