Tickets for World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on sale for I-80 Speedway event on June 22
GREENWOOD, Neb. — March 15, 2016 — Tickets are now on sale for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series NAPA Auto Parts Outlaw Showdown at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska on Wednesday, June 22 and can be purchased online at slspromotions.ticketforce.com or by calling SLS Promotions at 815-344-2023.
Last year at I-80 Speedway, 2001 World of Outlaws champion, Danny Lasoski was victorious in a thrilling last-lap battle over seven-time and reigning series titlist Donny Schatz. Kerry Madsen led the first five laps, before Lasoski took the top spot. Schatz, who started 13th, took the lead from Lasoski on lap-28 and led two circuits, before Lasoski used a last corner pass to steal the win at the line. For Lasoski, it was his second win with the series at I-80 Speedway and the 90th of his career, which is seventh on the series all-time win list.
Joey Saldana, who father, Joe, was born and raised in Nebraska, is a past winner with the series at I-80 Speedway. The second-generation driver was fastest in time trials last year at the track. Saldana has led the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series in fast time awards each of the last two years.
Battling the likes of the aforementioned Schatz and Saldana in 2016 is a talented group of full-time competitors, include current point leader Brad Sweet and his Kasey Kahne Racing teammate Daryn Pittman, the 2013 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series champion, as well as Shane Stewart, who drives for Larson Marks Racing, co-owned by NASCAR driver Kyle Larson, veteran drivers Paul McMahan and Jason Sides, along, up-and-coming young drivers David Gravel, Logan Schuchart and Jacob Allen, sophomore driver Jason Johnson and rookie contender Greg Wilson from Ohio.
