Help Unveil New Custom Show Truck for TV Event Wednesday (April 11) at The Dirt Track at Charlotte
CONCORD, N.C. – April 10, 2012 – If you enjoy the World of Outlaws, enjoy old Peterbillts, are an old school race fan and/or like watching Outcast Kustoms on Discovery’s Velocity Channel, we have the perfect night planned for you!
On Wednesday, April 11, we are looking for 100-150 people at the Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., to take part in the unveiling of one of the coolest projects ever undertaken by the World of Outlaws. Together with Armor All, the World of Outlaws have commissioned Kelvin Locklear (formerly the host of Trick My Truck on CMT) and his staff at Outcast Kustoms to build a hot rod Peterbilt show truck custom fitted with an old school open-air ramp-style race car hauler body. On the bed will be an authetic Tony Stewart Racing, Donny Schatz Armor All #15 World of Outlaws Sprint Car.
The entire build will air as a 1-hour special on Discovery’s Velocity Channel in Mid-May, but we need your help as extras to be the “crowd” gathered around the truck as we shoot the unveiling scene for the television show. The unveiling will be shot on the Dirt Track itself in Turn #2 and you will get the chance to actually walk on the track, check out the truck and meet Kelvin and some of the guys from the shop. All of the details are listed below.
The shoot is open to the general public, so bring your friends, family, kids; the more the merrier.
Date: Wednesday, April 11, 2012
Time: Please arrive by 5:30pm, taping will start at 6:00pm and wrap up by 7:00pm
Where: The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The GPS address is 5555 Concord Parkway South, Concord NC 28027.
How: Use Dirt Track entrance T off of Bruton Smith Blvd. (next to ZMAX Dragway). To get to the Dirt Track at Charlotte, take I-85 to Exit 49 and then go one mile on Bruton Smith Blvd.
Park: Near the main entrance to the Dirt Track front stretch grand stand (start/finish)
Enter: Main entrance at back of front stretch grandstand
