Strong Stockton Finishes For CJB Motorports

Fans,
Fans,

TELFORD, PA. – March 25, 2015 – As the 2015 season rolls on for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, title favorites are beginning to emerge.

With a pair of top-5’s at the Stockton (Calif. ) Dirt Track, CJB Motorsports driver Paul McMahan finds himself right in the thick of the championship chase.

“We’re off to a good start in 2015,” said McMahan, driver of the Bairs Tree Service, Nyce Crete & Landis Block & Concrete and All Star Performance sponsored machine. “We’ve got one race win this season (Cocopah Speedway) but we’re looking for that first Outlaw win. We’ve been fast, though.”

McMahan and the CJB crew brought their speed to the Stockton (Calif.) Dirt Track for a weekend double header. On the opening night, crew chief Barry Jackson tuned the #51 to near perfection as McMahan timed in 3rd out of 39 cars. The CJB machine took the green for the 30-lap feature from the pole position.

“We began the night off on a great start,” commented the California native. “Starting on the inside row hurt us during the feature. Shane (Stewart) got around us heading into one and Donny (Schatz) slid by us so we were back to third by the end of the first lap. We settled in, had a great battle with Joey Saldana and wound up fourth.”

Night two had a similar theme as the #51 showed flashes of excellent speed.

“We barely missed the dash on the second night,” said McMahan. “That meant we started ninth and we pushed forward. Barry and the crew gave me another great car.
I used up my right rear a bit early on but managed to nurse it to a third place finish.”

With his top-5 count sitting at ten for the season, McMahan is looking forward to the next event on the Outlaw schedule.

“We head to Chico now,” explained McMahan, referring to the quarter-mile bullring known as Silver Dollar Speedway. “I have so much history there. I met my wife, Jan, there. Raced around that place a lot growing up. We found out we’d be running the full Outlaw schedule there in the spring of 2013. We also won that night. Anytime we race at Chico, it’s big for me. We’ll also be heading to Antioch (Speedway) this weekend. They’ve changed a few things there over the years. We’ve had some good speed there so that should also be a good track for us.”
