STAND YOUR GROUND: McMahan and CJB Defend Home Turf

Fans,
Fans,

TELFORD, PA. – May 21, 2014 – With over 90 dates on the 2014 World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series schedule, chances to go home are few and far between. When they do occur, you make the most of them. That’s just what Paul McMahan and the crew of the #51 Bairs Tree Service/Nyce, Crete & Landis Block & Concrete/All Star Performance sprinter did as the series swung through the northeastern part of the United States.

“Our shop is based in Central Pennsylvania and the crew lives there,” said McMahan. “It’s also near where our owners, Chad and Jenn Clemens, live so it’s nice to work in our own shop and have a short drive to the track.”

Fresh off of their win at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind., McMahan and the team rolled into Lincoln Speedway near Abbottstown, Pa., on Wednesday, May 14.

“Lincoln is not one of my better tracks but we had a very solid night,” explained the California native. “We set quick time, gained a spot in our heat, gained two in the dash and one more in the feature. A fifth was great since Lincoln hasn’t been all that kind to me.”

From Lincoln, the team ventured over to Williams Grove Speedway near Mechanicsbug for a weekend doubleheader.

“We were fast both nights at the Grove,” said McMahan. “Friday night we got caught up in someone else’s mess and finished 19th. We set quick time the following night and finished seventh on a tricky track. It was a decent showing for us and I am looking forward to going back there as we get closer to some more of the bigger money races.”

Stops at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, N.Y. and New Egypt (N.J.) Speedway allowed McMahan and the #51 crew to continue on towards the Memorial Day weekend.

“We raced decently at Orange County,” said McMahan. “Wasn’t the greatest of nights nor was it the worst. Same thing goes for New Egypt. We timed second but had to change our motor after qualifying and wound up 6th in the feature. We’ve got a few days coming up before we head to the Dirt Track at Charlotte in North Carolina. We’ve won there the past two years with the #51 car and I am really looking forward to being apart of the big NASCAR weekend down there. On Memorial Day, we head up to Lawrenceburg (Ind.) Speedway and that’s a trip I am really looking forward to. Lawrenceburg is a great place for any fan to check out one of out races. We’re getting closer and closer to when the schedule really picks up and I know this team is ready.”
