Rain Disrupts Lonestar and Cotton Bowl Events

PAIGE, TX — A Friday morning rain shower, along with persistent and weeklong precipitation and saturated grounds at both Texas facilities have forced the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series to cancel this weekend’s events at Cotton Bowl Speedway on Friday, Feb. 22 and LoneStar Speedway on Saturday, Feb. 23. Series and track officials are looking at potential rain dates for later in the season.

Those who have purchased tickets for the events will receive a full ticket-value credit to their MyDirtTickets.com account to be used towards select World of Outlaws events, for reference, visit WorldofOutlaws.com/tix for a list of available events.

One of the events is the Outlaws will return to Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX on Friday and Saturday, April 12-13, for the Texas Outlaws Nationals. It is one of the marquee events on the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series schedule, with Saturday’s event paying $20,000 to win. Plenty of camping and reserved seating is also available for the historic weekend.

The Greatest Show on Dirt now heads to Sin City for a historic double-header with NASCAR K&N Pro Series the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown presented by Star Nursery at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas, NV, Wednesday and Thursday, February 27-28.
