SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. — April 22, 2015 — Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event at Granite City Speedway in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota on Tuesday, June 16 and can be purchased online at http://slspromotions.ticketforce.com/GraniteCitySpeedway15 or by calling SLS Promotions at 815-344-2023.
Granite City Speedway will mark the eighth track in Minnesota that the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series has competed at dating back to 1979, the sophomore season of the series. The three-eighths-mile has received numerous facility upgrades over the last few years.
Last season, the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series raced three times in Minnesota, with veterans Paul McMahan and Joey Saldana picking up wins, as well as first-time winner Roger Crockett.
Donny Schatz, the six-time and defending series champion and current series point leader, also is a past winner in the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” with the World of Outlaws, as is Daryn Pittman, the 2013 series titlist, who has a pair of wins thus far in 2015. David Gravel, one of the young guns on the circuit, won in Minnesota in 2013. Kraig Kinser has also been victorious in Minnesota with the series.
Also in action at Granite City Speedway will be Shane Stewart, who drives for Larson Marks Racing, co-owned by rising NASCAR star Kyle Larson, veterans Jason Sides, Paul McMahan, Brad Sweet, Kerry Madsen, second-year drivers Logan Schuchart and Jacob Allen.
