Tickets for World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on sale for Beaver Dam Raceway on June 25
BEAVER DAM, Wisc. — March 15, 2016 — Tickets are now on sale for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial presented by Karavan Trailers at Beaver Dam Raceway in Wisconsin, on Saturday, June 25 and can be purchased online at slspromotions.ticketforce.com or by calling SLS Promotions at 815-344-2023.
Donny Schatz, who claimed his seventh World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series title in 2015, was victorious at the high-banked, one-third-mile oval last season. The North Dakota native started 10th in the 40-lap main event and took the lead with just six laps remaining, from 2013 series titlist Daryn Pittman. Shane Stewart, who drives for Larson Marks Racing, co-owned by NASCAR drive Kyle Larson, led early in the race. Kerry Madsen took the top spot on lap-12 and led a race-high 15 laps, before finishing sixth.
Along with earning the win, Schatz was also the night’s Hard Charger, for passing the most cars in the feature event. The win for the veteran driver was one a career-high 31 on the season for him, which make his just the second driver in series history to have a 30-plus win season, joining 20-time series champion Steve Kinser, who accomplished the feat on three separate occasions.
The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series competed at Beaver Dam Raceway for the first time in 1996 and has visited the track each and every year consecutively since 2002. Joey Saldana and Pittman are tied for the most wins, with three each, at the track, while Schatz has a pair of victories. Brad Sweet, the current series point leader, won at Beaver Dam Raceway in 2014.
Battling Schatz, Stewart, Pittman, Sweet and Saldana in 2016 is a talented group of full-time competitors, including veteran drivers Jason Sides and Paul McMahan, along with up-and-coming young drivers David Gravel, Logan Schuchart and Jacob Allen, as well as sophomore driver Jason Johnson and rookie contender Greg Wilson from Ohio.
