Motter Team Looking to Gain More Consistency

Fans,
Fans,

BROCKVILLE, Ontario (July 29, 2015) – With the crown jewel of the World of Outlaws series, the Knoxville Nationals, fast approaching, Joey Saldana and the Motter Equipment HE&M Saw Beltline Body Shop team are diligently working to perfect different track set-ups.

There are two races this weekend in Canada that will give the team that opportunity. Friday, July 31, the World of Outlaws will compete at Brockville Ontario Speedway for the second time.  The competed at Brockville in 2011 and now, after a three-year sabbatical, they return.

Saturday night it’s on to the 4/10-mile Autodrome Drummond in Quebec where Saldana scored a 2012 victory.

“For most teams, ours included, a late qualifying draw puts you behind the eight ball,” said Dan Motter, team owner.  “And then if you have a situation where you have deteriorating track conditions throughout the night, which is often the case, it’s hard to fight back from that.  We want to be a team that can rebound and bounce back from an unfavorable situation.

“We have a new team that is really working well together.  Everyone has respect for the other and we are digging deep.  But it takes time for a team to gel and as that happens, we get better and better.

“We had three consecutive top five finishes last weekend at Williams Grove and Lebanon Valley.  Then at Ohsweken we were very late in the qualifying draw and didn’t have the night we wanted on a slick track.

“We have to turn the ‘off’ nights around and we are digging deep to do that. I have confidence that we will find the combinations. We need to be running on mean in every track condition and under every qualifying draw circumstance.”
