Kinser Gets Top-10’s

Fans,
Fans,

Granger, IA—August 7, 2011—Kraig Kinser got to race at two of his favorite tracks over the weekend and picked up two strong finishes as he continues to gain momentum in the Casey’s General Store Maxim for Parsons Motorsports, heading into the biggest event of the season, the 51st Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway in Iowa, which wraps up the “Month of Money” for the World of Outlaws.

Kinser kicked off the weekend on Friday at his home track of Bloomington Speedway in Indiana, with a solid 10th-place finish. Kinser worked his way from the 18th starting spot to earn his 12th Top-10 finish of the season when the checkered flag flew on the 40-lapper, and his second Top-10 run of the season in his home state. The third generation driver now has five career Top-10 finishes in seven starts at the historic track that has seen three generations of the Kinser family visit the winner’s circle.

The weekend wrapped up for Kraig on Saturday with the Third Annual Ironman 55 at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Mo., with the 2005 World of Outlaw Rookie of the Year coming home a very strong sixth, to pick up his 13th Top-10 finish of the season.  Kinser started the night by timing in 11th, which put him on the pole of the second heat race. He won that heat race to earn a spot in the dash, where he would finish ninth to snag a fifth row starting spot for the 55-lap main event.

Kinser used a strong start to move into eighth on the opening lap. He would run in that position for a number of laps, before taking the seventh spot on the 24th circuit. He would move up one more spot on a lap-36 restart and would remain sixth for the final 19 laps of the longest and most grueling World of Outlaws event of the season.

Kinser used the pair of Top-10 finishes to move up a spot to 11th in the World of Outlaws championship standings and now has 13 Top-10 finishes on the season. Next up for Kinser and the World of Outlaws is the 51st Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals at the legendary Knoxville Raceway in Iowa, Aug. 10-13.

Kraig on the weekend:

“It was a pretty good weekend. It was great to get back to Bloomington and race on my home track. They had a huge crowd there and everyone was very excited to see the World of Outlaws. We got ourselves a little behind in qualifying and had to really work back from that all night. It was good to finish in the Top-10 in front of my hometown fans. We had a good car at Pevely. We qualified in the right spot and made it into the dash, which always helps. The car felt good in the feature. The whole team did a fantastic job, battling the heat all day and making sure everything was ready to go on the car for 55 laps. We keep working hard and have found a few things in the last few weeks that will hopefully help over the last few months of the season.”
