Shark Racing Successful and Smart During Thunderbowl Doubleheader with Outlaws

Fans,
Fans,

Inside Line Promotions – TULARE, Calif. (March 16, 2015) – Shark Racing will chalk last weekend up as a success after the duo of Jacob Allen and Logan Schuchart combined to make three World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series features and exited the weekend without tearing up any equipment at Thunderbowl Raceway.

“We brought our cars home in one piece in Tulare, which is pretty huge,” Allen said. “It’s stressful for sure. You have to be on your toes. It has some rough spots on the track that if you hit it can bounce you around. You have to hang on, keep your eyes open and be smart. You still have to race and go for it, but just be alert of your surroundings at all times.”

Schuchart earned his way into the main event both nights at the third-mile oval. He qualified 24th quickest and finished fifth in a heat race to lockinto the feature on Friday night before timing in 16th quickest, placing sixth in a heat and finishing second in the Last Chance Showdown to garner a transfer on Saturday.

Schuchart decided to exit the feature early both nights and he was credited with finishes of 24th and 21st, respectively.

“When it’s rough like that it’s hard not to crash,” he said. “To make both feature and not crash anything up is a better weekend than it could have been. It was hard to race. You had to really be on the gas and take some chances to pass people and with our budget and lack of spare equipment we have to be cautious with racing like that. We have to take care of our race cars.”

Allen progressed throughout the weekend. He qualified 33rd quickest, finished 10th in a heat race and 14th in the Last Chance Showdown on Friday before rebounding on Saturday by timing in 24th quickest and maneuvering from sixth to fourth place in a heat race to lock himself into the main event.

“On Night 1 we were trying to figure it out,” he said. “In qualifying it fell off the deep end and we were behind the eight ball the rest of the night, but on Saturday we qualified decent and I transferred through the heat, which was a big deal to me. The track was difficult so we decided to pull in early during the main event, which was a good idea since a lot of cars ended up crashing.”

He was scored 26th in the feature.

Shark Racing will return to World of Outlaws competition this Saturday and Sunday at Stockton Dirt Track in Stockton, Calif., for the FVP Western Spring Shootout.

“I think we’ll have a chance to race a little bit,” Schuchart said. “Hopefully that track is smooth and we can race on it.”
