Excitement Unparalleled When World of Outlaws Visits River Cities

Fans,
Fans,

Inside Line Promotions – GRAND FORKS, N.D. – It is evident that World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series drivers love River Cities Speedway by the way their faces light up when describing the bullring.

“That is probably one of the best tracks as a driver you enjoy going to,” Paul McMahan said. “For a fan it has to be the most exciting place in the country.”

The premier sprint car series will return to the high-banked track on Friday, Aug. 15, for the second – and final – time this season. North Dakota native Donny Schatz made a late-race pass to secure the victory during the first race in June.

Schatz’s race-winning move with two laps remaining was typical of the competition that is showcased when the World of Outlaws visit River Cities Speedway, McMahan said.

“Everybody is right on top of each other,” he said. “In one lap you can be contending for the lead to running sixth or seventh.”

It also gives an opportunity for a driver who doesn’t start near the front. There have been seven different winners in the past nine World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series events at River Cities Speedway.

“You can start in the back and work your way to the front,” McMahan said. “You’re in lapped traffic in three laps.”
