Bill Balog
Wide Open Weekend
The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series heads north for a unique tripleheader weekend with limited recent history for much of the current roster.
The weekend begins at Hartford Speedway, returning for the first time since 2019, where David Gravel is the most recent series winner. From there, the tour visits Plymouth Dirt Track, where Rico Abreu won in the track’s 2025 return and a new winner is guaranteed this weekend. The trip wraps up at Angell Park Speedway, where Sheldon Haudenschild won last year after the Outlaws returned for the first time since 2016.
With three tracks offering limited experience for most of the field, unpredictability should be the theme.
One driver to watch: 10-time IRA Sprint Car Series champion Bill Balog, who brings extensive success at both Wisconsin stops and could capitalize on his home-state advantage.
