Tony Stewart Racing Poised for Outlaws’ California Speedweek

INDIANAPOLIS (Sept.5, 2012) – It’s tough to do anything five nights in a row, let alone perform at optimum level when the competition is as tough as it gets. That’s the task at hand for Tony Stewart Racing’s (TSR) Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz as they embark on the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series California Speedweek, which includes three nights of racing at Silver Dollar Speedway and single-night events at Calistoga (Calif.) Speedway and Antioch (Calif.) Speedway.

Kerry Madsen – Red Hot with Two Wins!

(Bill W) September 5, 2012 – Kerry Madsen is rolling and collected two wins in the Pacific Northwest.  On Friday night, he struck at the Skagit Speedway in Washington and on Monday, he picked up a win at the Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Oregon.  He has mixed in another pair of top fives, a sixth and an eighth place finish in the last two weeks as well.  A busy weekend looms in California, with the prestigious Gold Cup at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, followed by a date in Calistoga Sunday and Antioch Monday.

9/6/2012 – Silver Dollar Speedway

CHICO, Calif. — Sept. 6, 2012 — Donny Schatz slid by polesitter Kyle Larson to lead the final 11 laps and claim the opening night of the 59th annual Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway.

Tim Kaeding finished third after Sammy Swindell crashed on the frontstretch of the final lap, relegating him to an 18th-place finish.

World of Outlaws championship points leader Craig Dollansky spun midway through the race and went two laps down. He ended 20th as Schatz became the new points leader. (CLICK FOR FULL RACE REPORT)
