World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series At a Glance

SILVER DOLLAR SPEEDWAY

TULARE, Calif. – March 19, 2012 – After three races in the Golden State the past two weekends, the World of Outlaws, Californians and the weather each have a victory.

Joey Saldana won the first event in California by outlasting California native and two-time defending World of Outlaws champion Jason Meyers in the NAPA Know How SoCal Showdown at Perris Auto Speedway on March 10 in Perris. Californian Tim Kaeding then became the first repeat winner when he dominated the opener at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare last Friday before rain claimed Saturday’s finale.

This weekend signifies one of the biggest battles between the Outlaws and Californians as the largest field of competitors in a World of Outlaws event this season is expected to challenge for the Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., on Friday and Saturday.

Schatz’s Consistency Pushes Him Back on Top of Outlaw Standings

The World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Series competitors face just about everything during their 10-month season. Oftentimes, Mother Nature proves to be one of the toughest competitors. Racing prevailed on Friday night at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif., but the Outlaws lost their first race to rain on Saturday night. Donny Schatz led the two-car Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) team by finishing sixth in Friday night’s WoO A-Feature while Steve Kinser rebounded to finish seventh after some bad luck early in the main event.

Kraig Kinser Finishes 10th in Tulare

Tulare, Calif. — March 18, 2012 — With the solid start to the season that Kraig Kinser has had, he certainly didn’t want to hear the four-letter word that all racers dread most. Rain. With momentum on his side following a pair of Top-10 runs to open the eight-race West Coast swing for the World of Outlaws, the native of Bloomington, Ind. headed into Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif. looking to continue his consistent start to the 2012 campaign. When it was all said and done, the World of Outlaws scored one win at Thunderbowl Raceway and Mother Nature picked up a victory. The good news for Kinser was that he earned another Top-10 finish and remains fifth in the series standings.
