Rain Delays 49th Annual National Open at Williams Grove Speedway

Mother Nature forces officials to reschedule $50,000 to win event near Mechanicsburg, Pa.

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Oct. 1, 2011 — Due to persistent rain, track and series officials have delayed the 49th Annual Morgan Hughes National Open at Williams Grove Speedway near Mechanicsburg, Pa. Rain had been forecasted for several days but officials were hopeful that enough of an open window could be found to run the race. The event now will be run on Friday, October 7, the night before the STP Shootout at Rolling Wheels Raceway in Elbridge, N.Y.

Current points leader widens margin over second place Schatz with 6th win

MECHANICSBURG, Pa — Sept. 30, 2011 — Winning one race at Williams Grove Speedway was special for Jason Meyers and his Elite Racing Team. Picking up another victory at the famed half mile track was that much sweeter as the Clovis, Calif. native dominated the night before the 49th Annual Morgan Hughes National Open. Meyers led all 25 circuits around the paper clip shaped half mile to score his sixth win of the season, including his second in a row at Williams Grove.
