Ongoing Reconstruction Project Forces Cancelation Of West Virginia Motor Speedway’s WoO Late Model Series Event On July 30

CONCORD, NC – July 18, 2011 – The World of Outlaws Late Model Series event scheduled for Sat., July 30, at West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells has been canceled because the ambitious project to shorten the track is not yet complete, series and Mountain State Motorsports Promotions officials announced on Monday.

Construction work to transform the sprawling five-eighths-mile WVMS oval into a more fan- and competitor-friendly three-eighths-mile layout began in April, but a rain-filled month caused delays in the project that led to the postponement of the WoO LMS ‘RaceFest’ scheduled for May 28-29. Mountain State Motorsports Promotions hoped to complete the reconstruction effort in time to unveil the new track to fans and racers with a one-day WoO LMS show on July 30 but further delays made that deadline impossible to meet.

Tony Stewart Racing Teams Kick Off ‘Month of Money’

The World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Series kicked off its annual “Month of Money” last week in Ohio with three nights of action. Tony Stewart Racing’s (TSR) Donny Schatz raced the TSR No. 15 STP/Armor All/Chevrolet J&J to victory in Wednesday’s Brad Doty Classic at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima before he and teammate Steve Kinser ventured to Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway in Rossburg for the 28^th annual Kings Royal on Friday and Saturday. Schatz and Kinser were joined in action all three nights by team owner Tony Stewart. Kinser drove the TSR No. 11 Bass Pro Shops/J.D. Byrider/ Chevrolet Maxim to a fifth-place finish on Friday night in the Knight Before the Kings Royal 30-lap A-Feature. Stewart made his first career Kings Royal A-Feature lineup on Saturday night, driving the TSR No. 14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 J&J, and finished an impressive 10^th.

Month of Money Continues for Kraig Kinser

Granger, IA—July 17, 2011–Competing with the World of Outlaws, there is never really much time to dwell on the highs or the lows of a particular night, as there is always another race just around the corner. For Kraig Kinser and the Casey’s General Store team, they look to put a tough trio of events behind them, as they take to the track five times this week in a six-day stretch as the “Month of Money” continues with the second East Coast swing of the 2011 campaign.
