Runner-up finish last weekend sparks confidence for defending track champion

CONCORD, N.C. — June 7, 2011 — The yellow flag waved over the field with nine laps to go in the Kansas City Shootout on Saturday night at Lakeside (Kan.) Speedway. Brian Brown had led from the green flag. He was seeking his first World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victory. Now, facing a double-file restart alongside legend Steve Kinser, he had a decision to make: Do I go to the top and hope I can carry the momentum around the half-mile oval, or do I line up on the bottom and try to get out in front of Kinser?

Weekly-Show Victory At Lernerville Speedway Gets Chub Frank Tuned Up For Fifth Annual Firecracker 100 On June 23-25

SARVER, PA – June 6, 2011 – Chub Frank was happy after winning last Friday night’s 25-lap DIRTcar UMP Late Model feature at Lernerville Speedway.

The 49-year-old veteran racer from Bear Lake, Pa., will be a lot happier, however, if his weekly-show success leads to a $30,000 victory in the four-tenths-mile track’s fifth annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com, a crown-jewel World of Outlaws Late Model Series event scheduled for June 23-25.
