Concord, NC —
Countdown to the World Finals: 2 Days
The third annual World of Outlaws World Finals featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series is quickly approaching at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, November 5-7. In the 11 days leading up to the three-day action packed season ender, World of Outlaws drivers will share their thoughts on what is quickly becoming one of the “Must See” marquee events of the year.
The next pair of drivers up are Cody Darrah and Brad Sweet who will both be driving for Kasey Kahne Racing at the World Finals as teammates to Joey Saldana. Darrah competed in the World Finals last season scoring a fifth-place finish in the opener and was ninth in the finale. The native of Red Lion, Pennsylvania has made three career starts at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway. He made his first start for the Kasey Kahne Racing team at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in New York back on October 10, finishing sixth, after winning for the first time in his career with the World of Outlaws the weekend before at his home track of Williams Grove Speedway. Sweet, who has competed in three events this season for Kasey Kahne Racing, will make his first start at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor this week. In his career, he has raced once in the state of North Carolina, with that coming in a midget on asphalt last season.
Cody Darrah, Driver Kasey Kahne Racing:
“It’s a heck of an opportunity and an absolute honor to drive for these guys (Kasey Kahne Racing). It definitely puts the pressure on you because with this kind of team you’re expected to win, but that’s a good thing. I want that pressure. I think our odds are good. I definitely have some of the best equipment in the country under me running for Kasey Kahne Racing, so I’m going there with the expectation that I can win. The team has the confidence to put me in the car, so I can’t think any other way.”
Brad Sweet, Driver Kasey Kahne Racing:
“I just moved down to Charlotte so it’s a home race for me and it’s where the shop is, so a lot of Kasey’s (Kahne) family will be there. It will be a lot of fun and I am really looking forward to it. We’ll be running three cars so that will be a lot of fun as well. It’s a pretty standard track and I have watched a lot of races there. You try to adapt to it as quick as you can in hot laps and try to be as competitive as you can right away.”
The finale of the World Finals will air live on SPEED on Saturday, November 7 beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern, with Bobby Gerould on the call and Brad Doty offering expert analysis along with Shane Andrews and Erin Crocker reporting from the pit area.
On Thursday, November 5 at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motors Speedway, adult tickets will be $10, with tickets for children 12-under just $5.
