Chico,CA — Warm temperatures and sunny skies greeted competitors for the opener of the 56th Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions on September 10 at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California. Jason Meyers battled Sammy Swindell early in the preliminary feature, taking the lead on the ninth lap with Danny Lasoski making a late race charge and actually taking the lead, though that pass was negated by a red flag prior to the lap being completed. In the end it was Meyers winning at the ¼-mile bullring for the second time this season.

Cottage Grove,OR — The World of Outlaws made their annual stop at Cottage Grove Speedway in Oregon on September 8 as they wrapped up their portion of the Gold Rush Tour through the always scenic Pacific Northwest. Jason Meyers battled Tim Kaeding throughout the race to score his first win at the high-banked ¼-mile bullring and his second consecutive of the Gold Rush Tour.

Burlington,WA — With a 100 percent chance of rain all day, Mother Nature smiled upon the World of Outlaws at Skagit Speedway in the finale of the annual two-day event at the track, with sunny skies and pleasant temperatures prevailing after an afternoon full of clouds. Jason Meyers would come out on top to take home the $20,000 top prize and earn his first career win at Skagit Speedway. The victory also helped him move to within 38 points of Donny Schatz in the series championship standings.

Burlington,WA — The Gold Rush Tour continued for the World of Outlaws at Skagit Speedway with two full nights of racing. In the opener, Joey Saldana became the first driver this season to sweep an entire racing program, setting fast time, winning a heat race, winning the Crane Cams Dash and picking up a victory in the 30-lap A-Feature.

Edmonton,AB — The third annual Oil City Cup brought the World of Outlaws to Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Joey Saldana came from the 10th starting spot in the dash to earn a front row starting spot in the 35-lap A-Feature and got the jump on Danny Lasoski at the start and would pace the field for the entire distance to score his first career win north of the border.

Mandan,ND — Dacotah Speedway in Mandan, North Dakota hosted the World of Outlaws for the second consecutive season on August 22. Sunny skies and warm temperatures greeted the competitors and a racy track provided action the entire night. In the end, it was Donny Schatz picking up the 100th A-Feature win of his career with the World of Outlaws.

Grand Forks, ND — Mother Nature tried her best to pick up the win on August 21 at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota, but track officials along with the crew from SLS Promotions would not let her win. Despite having to pit the cars in the parking lot due to an extremely muddy pit area, the race went off without a hitch. Craig Dollansky would reign supreme to score his third win of 2009.

Pevely, MO — The inaugural Ironman 55 weekend at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri was a rousing success, with Craig Dollansky winning the opener and Joey Saldana making history in the finale picking up the $20,000 victory. 40-plus cars packed the pit area for the event with clear skies and warm temperatures the story of the weekend.

Chilicothe, OH — The World of Outlaws made their annual stop at the high-banked K-C Raceway on August 1. Donny Schatz continues his dominance at the track to score his fourth career win in five starts, outrunning 20-time series champion Steve Kinser along with Mother Nature, as rain feel about 45 minutes after the checkered flag flew. It was Schatz’s 11th win of the season and helped him extend his lead in the series championship standings.

Ohsweken, ONT — The second night at Ohsweken Speedway saw the pits packed again as 39 cars checked in. Jason Sides was the class of the field, taking the lead from Craig Dollansky on the 6th lap and leading the remainder of the 30-lap contest to pick up his second win his three starts at Ohsweken.
