Edmonton, AB, Canada — The finale of the Oil City Cup provided some great racing with Sam Hafertepe Jr., Joey Saldana and Donny Schatz trading slide jobs in lapped traffic lap after lap. Saldana would come out on top to earn his series leading 12th A-Feature win of the season and gain some points in the World of Outlaws championship standings as he chases his first title. Jac Haudenschild opened the night by setting fast time in qualifying, with heat races going to Kerry Madsen, Jason Solwold and Sam Hafertepe Jr. Hafertepe won the dash to earn the pole for the main event and led the first 29 laps of the 35-lap en route to a podium finish. Edmonton, AB, Canada — Castrol Raceway hosted the Fourth Annual Oil City Cup on August 27-28, as the series made its final of three stops this season in Canada. The event opened with Jason Meyers setting fast time on Friday night, with heats going to Craig Dollansky, Ben Gregg and Lucas Wolfe. Steve Kinser won the dash to earn the pole position for the 35-lap main event, which he led early. Jason Meyers used a slide job to take the lead from Kinser coming off turn four on the 16th lap and would lead the remainder of the distance to score his ninth win of the season and gain significant ground in the points race with Joey Saldana and Kinser. Minot, ND — The Magic City Showdown wrapped up on August 21 beginning with a Meet & Greet in the pit area under beautiful sunny skies in the afternoon. The racing began with Ben Gregg stopping the clocks first in time trials for the first time in his career with the World of Outlaws. Heat races went to Mark Dobmeier, Jason Meyers, Steve Kinser and Craig Dollansky. Kraig Kinser won the dash to earn the pole for the A-Feature and led the first 26 laps of the 30-lap contest, before Craig Dollansky got by him coming off turn four with four laps to go. Dollansky then withstood a final double file restart with three laps to go to pick up the win over Jason Sides and Donny Schatz, despite have a flat left rear tire. Minot, ND — The Fifth Annual Magic City Showdown got even bigger this season with two full nights of racing at Nodak Speedway in Minot, North Dakota. The event kicked off with a Meet & Greet featuring World of Outlaws drivers and teams at the Sleep Inn & Suites in Minot on August 19, before a hauler parade took the teams to the track on Friday afternoon to begin the racing portion of the event. The night began with Jason Meyers setting fast time, while heat races were won by Donny Schatz, Lucas Wolfe and Jac Haudenschild. Kraig Kinser won the dash to earn the pole for the main event. Joey Saldana got the jump on the third generation driver at the track and would lead all 35 laps, winning in a Photo-Finish over Steve Kinser by a mere 0.018 seconds at the line. Read More

Pevely, MO — Another sunny and warm day was in store for the finale of the Second Annual Ironman 55 at I-55 Raceway as fans packed the stands at the always racy 1/3-mile high-banked bullring for the longest, most grueling event of the season on the World of Outlaws trailer, with 55 laps awaiting. Sam Hafertepe Jr. opened the night by turning the fastest lap in time trials. Heat races went to Kraig Kinser, Jason Meyers and Jason Sides. Tim Shaffer won the dash to earn the pole position for the Ironman 55. He led early before an great battle with Hafertepe, that saw the pair trade slide jobs for four straight laps with Hafertepe leading at the line each time. Shaffer would then lead from the 13th lap until the 28th go-around when Jason Meyers got around him. Meyers would lead the rest of the way, with Lucas Wolfe using a monster slide job coming off turn four on the last lap to inch ahead, with Meyers winning a drag race down the front stretch to take the $20,000 top prize. Pevely, MO — The World of Outlaws rolled into the always racy I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri on Friday, August 6 for the opener of the Second Annual Ironman 55 Weekend. Jason Meyers opened the night by turning the fastest lap in time trials of the 30 car that took to the high-banked 1/3-mile bullring. Heat races went to David Gravel, Donny Schatz and Craig Dollansky. Jason Sides won the dash to earn the pole position for the 30-lap main event. He would lead early before Tim Shaffer got by him on the high side of turn two in lapped traffic. Fulton, NY — The World of Outlaws returned to Fulton Speedway in New York for the first time since 2006 on August 3. Mother nature tried her best to disrupt the plan with a lengthy rain delay right before hot laps, but the track crew prepared the surface, which was blazing fast at the high-banked 3/8-mile. Sam Hafertepe Jr. opened the night by turning the fastest lap in time trials which was a new track record. A total of 18 drivers broke the existing mark. Heats went to Jason Sides, Joey Saldana and Danny Lasoski. Doug Esh won the dash and led the first 12 laps of the main event before Steve Kinser got around him coming off turn four in traffic. Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada — Mother Nature pushed the finale of the Six Nation Showdown at Ohsweken Speedway in Canada back a day, with crystal clear blue skies greeting competitors on Sunday, August 1. Jason Meyers opened the night by turning the fastest lap in time trials of the 34 cars that took to the track. Heat races went to Danny Lasoski, Sam Hafertepe Jr., Jason Sides and Chad Kemenah. Donny Schatz won the dash to earn the pole position for the main event. Schatz would lead the entire 30-lap distance to score his first win at Ohsweken after three runner-up finishes and a third in the opener of the Six Nation Showdown. A standing room only crowd was on-hand to see Lucas Wolfe open the night by setting a new track record in time trials, while heats went to Chad Kemenah, Donny Schatz and Jason Meyers. West Lebanon, NY — The World of Outlaws made their annual trip to the Valley of Speedway on July 25 for a full night of racing at Lebanon Valley Speedway before another very large crowd at the high-banked half-mile. Joey Saldana opened the night by setting fast time in qualifying, with heat races going to Doug Esh, Chad Kemenah and Danny Lasoski. Esh won the dash to earn the pole for the 25-lap main event and would pace the entire distance, withstanding a couple of double file restarts, including one with just two laps remaining and Steve Kinser lining up next to him. Mechanicsburg, PA — Very warm temperatures greeted the World of Outlaws again on July 24 for the finale of the Summer Nationals at the famed Williams Grove Speedway. Jason Sides began the night by turning the fastest lap in time trials. Heat races went to Brian Leppo, Kerry Madsen, Craig Dollansky and Tyler Walker. Paul McMahan won the dash to earn pole for the second straight night. Sammy Swindell lead the first 15 laps of the race before McMahan got around him. Mechanicsburg, PA — Sunny skies and very warm temperatures greeted the World of Outlaws for the opener of the Summer Nationals at the famed Williams Grove Speedway on July 23. Donny Schatz opened the night by turning the fastest lap in time trials. Heat races went to Paul McMahan, Jason Meyers, Sammy Swindell and Chad Layton. McMahan won the dash to earn the pole for the 25-lap main event and led the first 10 laps before Lance Dewease got around him. Sarver, PA — The Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup Twin 30’a attracted a very large crowd again this season at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. Two separate 30-lap main events were on-tap with $15,000 going to the winner of each. Lance Dewease battled Dale Blaney for the win in the first Twin, while it was Joey Saldana picking up his series leading 10th victory of the season in the finale. Rossburg, OH — The 27th Annual Kings Royal began with a huge autograph session in the Fan Zone in the afternoon at Eldora Speedway, followed by a full night of racing. Each of the 24 starts in the famed event got a chance to sit on the throne on the stage prior to the night and just one driver would crowned following the 40-lap event. Steve Kinser led early before Kerry Madsen took the top spot and control the race until the late going. Lima, OH — The 22nd Annual Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic Presented by Racing Optics brought the World of Outlaws to Limaland Motorsports Park on July 14 for a full night of racing. Jason Sides began the night by turning the fastest lap in qualifying of the stout 47-car field that was in attendance. Tony Stewart, making his World of Outlaws debut, was among the stars on-hand for the event. The largest crowd in track history saw Ohio native Dale Blaney score his second win in the Brad Doty Classic and his first in the event with it under the World of Outlaws banner at Limaland Motorsports Park. Jason Meyers started off the night by turning the fastest lap in time trials. Heat races went to Kraig Kinser, Donny Schatz and Paul McMahan. Lucas Wolfe won the dash to start on the pole in the 35-lap main event. He led the first 29 circuits before Sammy Swindell got around. Sedalia, MO — The World of Outlaws made a stop at Missouri State Fair Speedway for the third round of the Showdown for the Bud Crown, Kasey’s King of Sedalia Presented by Budweiser. A huge crowd was on hand to witness Kasey Kahne compete against the best sprint car drivers in the world. Just as time trials were about to be completed, rain came and stayed for the rest of the evening, postponing the event until Tuesday, June 29. The World of Outlaws returned to Missouri State Fair Speedway for the first time since 2008, on June 29 for Kasey’s King of Sedalia Presented By Budweiser (postponed from the originally scheduled June 16 race date). Jason Meyers opened the night by turning the fastest lap in qualifying, with Wayne Johnson, Kerry Madsen and Jason Sides winning heat races. Sam Hafertepe Jr. won the dash to earn the pole position for the main event. Hafertepe led the first 14 laps of the feature before Jason Sides got around him coming off turn four. Paul McMahan began the night by setting fast time, with heat races going to Sam Hafertepe Jr., Donny Schatz and Sammy Swindell. McCool Junction, Nebraska — The World of Outlaws visited Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska for the first time ever on June 25. The largest crowd in the history of the track was on hand to see Brooke Tatnell battle Jason Meyers for the win. Tatnell took the lead on the 16th lap with a slide job in turns three and four. For Tatnell it was his second win of the season with the World of Outlaws and the 11th of his career.
