Chico,CA — The 56th Annual Gold Cup Race of Champion wrapped up with the 40-lap $50,000 to-win A-Feature event. Jason Sides dominated most of the event until the leaders encountered lapped traffic over the last few laps, giving Joey Saldana just enough of an opening to make a last turn last lap pass to snag the win. It was his second career Gold Cup triumph.
