WoO LMS History: Competed in the first WoO LMS event of the new World Racing Group-era, winning a heat and finishing third in the A-Main on Feb. 3, 2004, at Florida’s Volusia Speedway Park… First career tour win came on Feb. 6, 2004, at Volusia Speedway Park in the third race of the WRG-era… Ranked 18th in the final 2004 point standings… Qualified for first six features of WRG-era and made total of 13 A-Main starts in 2004. Registered two top-five and six top-10 finishes that season… Ran in five WoO LMS features in 2005, with two top-fives (third at Farley, Iowa, on June 1 and fifth at Pevely, Mo., on Sept. 17) and three top-10s… Made six feature starts in 2006, but bad luck prevented him from recording a top-10 finish. His best performance came on Aug. 14 at Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway, where he set fast time and made his way to the lead early in the feature before a flat tire forced him to pit (he finished 11th)… Got off to a hot start on the 2007 WoO LMS and entered the first 22 events. Won four features (including one at Farmer City Raceway, near his central Illinois home) and led the points standings several times through mid-June, but then dropped off tour after falling to fifth in points standings… Added another win later in season, pocketing $18,000 for capturing the Jani-King Southern Showdown at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway)… Finished a then career-high 10th in the 2007 points standings after entering 32 events… Earned a $1,000 bonus for winning the most National Interstate Insurance Fast Time Awards in 2007 (six)… One of only three drivers to win consecutive A-Mains on the 2007 tour… Committed to chasing the entire 2008 WoO LMS schedule after making move during off-season to new dirt Late Model team owned by NASCAR Sprint Cup star Clint Bowyer. Went on to win twice (at Missouri’s Lebanon I-44 Speedway and South Dakota’s Brown County Speedway) and finish a personal-best sixth in the points standings... Departed Bowyer’s operation following 2008 season to launch his own race team with help from Sheltra Motorsports…

Other Racing History: Regarded as one of the top dirt Late Model drivers in the nation… Started racing career late in the summer of 1991 in the UMP-type Modified class at Macon (Ill.) Speedway, a tight one-fifth-mile track near his home… Made first Super Late Model start midway through 1992 and was fulltime in the division by 1993… Has exploded as a true national star since 2000, especially for his performance on the UMP DIRTcar Racing Summernationals, a grueling, month-long tour that visits a different track almost every night from mid-June to mid-July. He won the Summernationals points title in 2005 and 2006, capturing a series-record 15 features in ’05 and 13 A-Mains in ’06. His 55 career UMP Summernationals triumphs since 1999 ranks him second on the tour’s alltime win list behind six-time champ Billy Moyer (62 wins), whose father, Billy Sr., has fielded Babb’s equipment for several seasons… Didn’t chase 2007 Summernationals title because he missed start of tour while following WoO LMS, but still won four A-Mains when he joined the end of the Summernationals schedule… Is a two-time winner of the prestigious Dirt Track World Championship – 2002 at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, Ky., and 2006 at K-C Raceway in Alma, Ohio… Also owns a crown-jewel victory in the 2003 Topless 100 at Batesville (Ark.) Speedway… Other major wins include the 2001 Illinois Fall Nationals at the Springfield Mile; 2002 Gopher 50 in Owatonna, Minn.; 2002 DuQuoin (Ill.) Mile event; 2003 Pepsi Nationals at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Mo.; 2005 and 2008 Dixie Shootout in Woodstock, Ga.; and 2008 Diamond Nationals at Missouri’s Lucas Oil Speedway… Accolades include the 2004 NARA/Lucas Oil Series championship and 2005 Lucas Oil ‘Dirt Nation’ Driver of the Year…

Interesting Facts: A serious outdoorsman, Babb is an expert hunter and fisherman who has been profiled in sporting magazines… Is nicknamed the ‘Moweaqua Missile.”… Got engaged to longtime girlfriend Emalie Meyer in April 2007 and the two were married in November 2008…
