WoO LMS History: Entered four tour events in 2008, qualifying for three A-Mains with a top finish of 19th on Aug. 30 at Tri-City Speedway in Franklin, Pa. (after winning a B-Main)… Other ’08 finishes were 24th on Aug. 31 at Tri-City and 21st on July 26 at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio; he failed to qualify for the Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa… Became WoO LMS regular in 2009, entering all 40 events. Qualified for 34 A-Mains and registered eight top-10 finishes en route to 10th-place finish in points standings and Rookie of the Year honors… Is the fourth driver with DIRTcar big-block roots to win the WoO LMS Rookie of the Year award, joining Tim McCreadie (2005), Tim Fuller (2007) and Vic Coffey (2008)… Finished 10th four times in five-race span late in ’09 season… Best finish of ’09 was a ninth on July 10 at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D…

Other Racing History: Began racing career in February 2004, competing in the DIRTcar big-block Modified action at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla. Went on that season to flash his potential as a 15-year-old big-block racer in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio, earning Rookie of the Year honors for the Twin State circuit and at Tri-City Speedway in Franklin, Pa… Won first career big-block Mod feature on June 18, 2005, at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, and later captured a feature at Tri-City Speedway. He also earned ’05 Rookie of the Year honors at Sharon and on the BRP Modified Tour… Recorded first big-block Mod win at Sharon in 2006… Won BRP Modified Tour championship in 2007… Switched focus to dirt Late Model racing in 2008, entering more than two-dozen full-fender events. Scored a top finish of second at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., and finished ninth in the MACS tour points standings… With two victories in limited big-block Modified starts in 2008, owns 12 career wins in the division… Recorded his first career dirt Late Model feature win on Oct. 3, 2009, pocketing $12,000 for capturing a 50-lap ULMS event at McKean County Raceway in East Smethport, Pa…

Interesting Facts: Racing is a tradition in the King family, which has been involved in dirt-track racing since 1973… Russell’s 44-year-old father, Rex Sr., is a veteran big-block Modified racer, and his 18-year-old brother Rex Jr. (‘Cooter’) is a rising driver in the division. His mother, Sis, is also active with the race team – in fact, she drives the hauler to many events… Got into dirt Late Model racing by buying two cars and a hauler from WoO LMS star Chub Frank, who has provided guidance to Russell’s full-fender career…
