WoO LMS History: A regular for all six seasons of the tour’s World Racing Group-era (2004-2009), Smith has failed to start just one of the 237 A-Mains run over the span. Engine problems left him a non-qualifier on Feb. 19, 2006, at Florida’s Volusia Speedway Park… Scored top finish of third (twice) on 2004 series and finished 10th in the point standings… Registered first career WoO LMS victory on April 9, 2005, at Virginia Motor Speedway. The race was the first tour event to be taped for broadcast by the SPEED television network... Won a second feature in 2005 (at Butler, Mich.) and finished ninth in the point standings… With four victories in 2006, was the tour’s second-biggest winner. Finished 10th in points standings… Enjoyed his best WoO LMS season in 2007, winning four times and leading points standings for much of the season’s first five months before settling for a third-place finish in the points standings… All of his 2007 victories came in the Midwest: Missouri (Lebanon I-44 Speedway and I-55 Raceway, Indiana (Kamp Motor Speedway) and Kansas (Belleville High Banks)… Faded to an eighth-place finish in the 2008 points standings, winning just once, at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway… Ran final five events of ’08 with a cast on his right hand and arm after breaking a bone in his wrist during qualifying for the World 100 at Eldora Speedway… Experienced the most frustrating WoO LMS campaign of his career in 2009, going winless for an entire season for the first time since 2004 and finishing ninth in the points standings… Managed just four top-five finishes in ’09, with a best of third on Aug. 13 at Pennsy’s Grandview Speedway… Lone heat race victory of ’09 came in season finale on Nov. 7 at The Dirt Track @ Charlotte Motor Speedway… Enters 2010 season with 11 career WoO LMS triumphs but riding a 70-race winless streak…

Other Racing History: Made driving debut at the age of 15. One year later he was a winner at Senoia (Ga.) Speedway… Raced family-owned cars until 1986… Owns four career Southern All-Stars Series championships (1992, 1993, 2000, 2003) – a tour record… Entered every UDTRA/Xtreme DirtCar Series event from 1990-1998, capturing the title in 1993 (when the tour was called the Hav-A-Tampa Series)… Has won nearly 150 features in his career, including the 2005 Hillbilly 100 at West Virginia’s Tyler County Speedway; the 2003 Jimmy Mosteller 100 at Dixie (Ga.) Speedway; and the Stick Elliott Memorial (1996 and 2001) and the 1997 Blue-Gray 100 at Cherokee (S.C.) Speedway… Traveled to Australia during the off-season in 1993 and 1996 to compete in dirt Late Model events as part of Team USA… Won 11 races overall in 2006, ending his season with a victory in the 18th annual ‘Gobbler 75’ at Cleveland (Tenn.) Speedway… Entered a total of 76 events in 2007 and won eight features overall… Pocketed $10,000 for winning the UMP DIRTcar Super Late Model finale during the 2008 Alltel DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park… His cars ran a total of 112 events in 2008, including his personal starts and races in which he entered a second car with another driver behind the wheel… Fielded a dirt Late Model driven by NASCAR Sprint Cup star Jeff Gordon in the 2007 and 2008 ‘Prelude to the Dream’ event at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway… Won six features in 2009 away from the WoO LMS… Debuted a new Rocket Chassis car late in the 2009 with help from West Virginia team owner Ernie Davis and plans to run Rocket cars regularly in ’10…
