WoO LMS History: Owns arguably the best finishing record in WoO LMS competition of any driver who has never been a tour regular… Has qualified for 29 tour features from 2004-06, with four wins, 12 top-fives and 22 top-10s to his credit… Recorded first career series victory in what was his initial feature start of the tour’s DIRT-era: on March 27, 2004, at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn… Scored a second win in 2004, on Aug. 10 at the Davenport (Iowa) Speedway Half-Mile… Registered seven top-five and nine top-10 finishes in his 10 A-Main starts during the 2004 season, and finished 19th in the point standings… Qualified for 10 features in 2005, highlighted by a victory on Aug. 9 at Dubuque (Iowa) Speedway. Ranked 18th in the season’s final point standings… Made seven A-Mains in 2006, winning once, on July 25 at Missouri’s Lebanon I-44 Speedway… One of seven drivers with a victory in all three seasons of the tour’s DIRT-era, joining Rick Eckert, Steve Francis, Billy Moyer, Chub Frank, Darrell Lanigan and Shane Clanton…

Notable: Well known across the dirt Late Model world by the nickname ‘Birky’… Owns over 125 career wins in nearly two decades of racing… Followed the national UDTRA/Xtreme DirtCar Series for two seasons, finishing second in the 2003 point standings and fourth in 2004… Won division’s crown jewel, the World 100 at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway, in 2002… Major event victories on his resume include the UMP Fall Nationals at Eldora (1998); Jackson 100 at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway (2001); Yankee Dirt Classic at Farley (Iowa) Speedway (2002); Illinois Fall Nationals at the Springfield Mile (1998, 2002, 2004); Gopher 50 at Owatonna, Minn. (2004); USA Nationals at New Richmond, Wis. (2004); and Knoxville (Iowa) Late Model Nationals (2004)… Is a die-hard fan of the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers. In September 2006 he traveled to western Pennsylvania to run the Pittsburgher 100 at least partially because he realized that he could stay overnight following the race and attend a Steelers home game…
