WEEKEND REVIEW
Woodward / Dollansky Team
BY CDR PR
Craig Dollansky and the Larry Woodwind Racing Team traveled to Pennsylvania over the past weekend to catch a couple nights of racing while having a weekend off of the ‘World of Outlaws’ schedule.
On Friday night the team rolled into the historic Williams Grove Speedway to take a shot at some ‘PA Posse’ competition. A half dozen ‘Outlaw’ regulars had the same idea bringing the total number of competitors to 35 at The Grove for the Friday night show.
Craig Dollansky in the #2 sprinter proved he was the man to beat, by taking the heat race win and the feature victory in convincing fashion. Passing points were awarded for the heat races placing Dollansky 5th over all. Drawing a 5 for the A-main invert, put Dollansky on the pole for the main event. Leading every lap the team went on to win the 25 lap A-Main, their second of the season, and Craig’s 3rd at ‘The Grove’.
SATURDAY, Lincoln Speedway, 3-23-08
The following evening at another central Pennsylvania racetrack Craig and crew battled nearly the same line-up of tough ‘Posse’ competitors. At the Lincoln Speedway Saturday night a handicapping process for non-regular competitors came into play. As long as the #2 team transferred out of their heat race the best they could start would be 12th in the A-main.
With a bold and aggressive move at the start of the heat race, Craig Dollansky went from his 9th place starting position, above the cushion to the runner-up spot. He finished the 10 lap heat race in the second position, transferring into the main event.
Starting from 12th, in the 25 lap feature, Dollansky duked it out again with the ‘Posse’ coming home in the 4th position. Craig and crew were the highest finishing ‘Outlaws’ in attendance at Lincoln Speedway.
“It was a good weekend for our team,” said Dollansky we just need to keep our momentum rolling as we get back into our regularly scheduled ‘World of Outlaw’ tour events.”
The team will have another weekend off, before resuming the ‘World of Outlaws’ schedule in Pevely, MO from the I-55 Raceway on April the fifth.
